At TechPro, as a leading provider of high-quality technical services, project management support, and AVL equipment rental for the live events industry, we have opened a new facility in Barcelona as part of our continued growth across the European market.
Our new 5,500 sq.ft. unit will support our growing client base across mainland Europe. We chose Barcelona for its position at the centre of the continent’s conference, exhibition, and medical congress calendar: one of the busiest in Europe.
Our Managing Director Mark Stokes commented:
“A lot of our UK clients are already working across Europe and until now we’ve been delivering all of that from Tamworth, which means every project starts with trucks crossing the Channel and all the carnets sorted in advance.
“Having a base in Barcelona changes everything for us and for our clients. Equipment and people based in Europe means less time spent at borders, less paperwork and a faster response for anything happening on the continent.
“Sustainability is high on our agenda and opening a base in Europe means we can build capability closer to our clients, reducing unnecessary travel and making the way we deliver projects more efficient, with a lower carbon footprint.
“We didn’t want to think about Europe as a series of separate markets we occasionally visit from the UK. Barcelona gives us the foundation to operate as one European business, with the same standards and the same people wherever the event happens to be, whether it’s Munich, Amsterdam or Paris.
“It’s also simply a good place to be for what we do. Barcelona hosts some of the biggest exhibitions and congresses on the calendar, and being established here puts us closer to the clients and venues driving that.”
A large amount of our high-quality equipment has already been moved to Barcelona, where it will be managed on the ground by our Europe Operations Manager, Rick Neal, supported by Projects Assistant Clair Neal. We also have further hires planned as the facility becomes fully operational in the months ahead.
Mark Stokes concludes:
“We’ve learned a lot about what it takes to operate successfully in Europe, and we’re applying that experience here. Barcelona isn’t a first attempt at something, but a considered next step that puts TechPro in a stronger position to serve clients across the continent for years to come.
