Sales Conference

Celtic Manor, Newport, Wales

For the 8th year running, TechPro were asked to provide full technical support and production for TMB Events’ client, Tesco, for their pre-Christmas Sales conference for 900 Store Managers from across the UK. This 6 day event, including one rig and one rehearsal day, took place at The Celtic Manor Resort, Newport, Wales.

TechPro provided full technical support across the main room (The Caernarfon Suite), Exhibition Hall, Foyer and 6 breakout rooms.

With access from 6am, our team rigged all day on the Saturday, followed by a 12 hour rehearsal day on the Sunday. The event was split in to 2 sections, with Monday and Tuesday involving 450 delegates from Southern stores, then Wednesday and Thursday involving of 450 delegates from the Northern stores.

With a logistically complex running order across the four days, key note speaker conferences, classroom sessions, celebrity guest speakers, performances and exhibition viewings took place between 9am – 5pm across the venue.

The main room was turned around within 2 hours on both Monday and Wednesday for dinner and 3 entertainment acts from 7pm – 1am. Cabaret tables were set out, cameras were re-positioned and the MC, 2 bands and a DJ were sound checked.

De-rig took place on Thursday evening between 6pm – 1am.

TechPro provided:

  • 30m x 5.5m stage with a bleached white canvas finish and black backing to enhance the video image
  • 30m x 4m decked stage with curved tread to stage
  • 3 x front projector screens (2 x 7m x 3m, 1 x 5m x 2.8m)
  • 2 x Panasonic 13k HD projectors + backups, 1 x Panasonic 8k HD projector + backup
  • Video switchers, visuals and graphics PCs, 2 x 50” plasma comfort monitors, autocue
  • Live camera relay and recording
  • Yamaha digital audio mixing desk, Nexo Line Array, PA system, 8 channel radio mics, lapel mics
  • Audio and lighting set up for evening entertainment (2 bands and 1 DJ)

I just wanted to say a huge thanks to you and your team for all your help on this year’s conference. I do appreciate the long hours and early starts… [...] You went over and above and were always on hand to help where needed.
